Nutrient Focus: Pecans: Copper, Alpha-linolenic (Omega-3) acid, & Linoleic (Omega-6) Acid (Be mindful that the White Chocolate Chips do contain Saturated Fat & Added Sugar)
this is a snack/dessert with a little sweetness // my recent love affair with cacao nibs & leftover white chocolate chips from holiday baking inspired me to create these delicious bites // just 12 cents per pecan they are surely going to satisfy that sweet tooth & wallet of yours // I think these are an awesome snack/dessert “meal” prep idea // Since making these, I have popped 1-2 in my mouth post dinner (when I personally prefer some sweetness!)
Ingredients and Kitchen Tools
- pecans
- chocolate chips (your choice- dark, milk, white, no sugar added or dairy free )
- cacao nibs (for kids, funfetti sprinkles would be great!)
- microwavable bowl
- plate
- parchment paper
- just to give an idea, I used 10 pecans with 2 Tbsp of chips & I kept the chips close together so the melted amount would stay to one side (easier to dip)
Steps
- simply melt the chips ( 30 seconds, remove & stir, 10 more seconds, remove and stir, repeat until soft)
- dip pecans into melted chocolate
- roll in cacao nibs
- lay pecans on parchment paper & place in fridge for 10 minutes to allow for chocolate to harden
- enjoy!
Happy, healthful eating!
